Gurgaon – from Mahabharta to Global Village

Well, Gurgaon has been carrying its own self, from the Mahabharta to the global village of 2008 (and beyond). Then it was the home of the knowledge guru, now it is the home of the knowledge companies. Gurgaon is evolving. As a resident of Gurgaon, I am equally pleased with the Gurgaon expressway, the Metro coming to Gurgaon and the shopping malls of Gurgan ( and more are coming up) as I am about the Hindustan Times(September 08)  and Gurgaon.com ( http://www.gurgaon.com/content/?p=218 ) waging a citizens’ war against administrative apathy and neglect.

I am also pleased, albeit with a touch of cynicism, that roads have been built in Gurgoan over the last few weeks. It feels quite different to drive on roads without potholes!

Today is also election result time – Delhi, Rajasthan, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh open their ballots today and we will know the fate of new governments in these states.
